The lobby of the Capital theater in Clearwater, Florida was being renovated when workers discovered a wall with the words "...Of Honor" and several names from J to Z lovingly painted on a brick wall hidden for decades. It turned out to be a memorial to the men of Clearwater who served during the First World War and it is believed that more than a hundred names are there.
The theater was built in 1924 and sat beside the old Clearwater Evening Sun newspaper building.
Plans are being discussed for it's preservation and possibly a new memorial.

Just in time for the WW1 Centennial. NYC has a lot of WW1 memorials tucked into places off the beaten track. There's one near where I live dedicated to the Dover Patrol.
