Post ZOMBIE LAKE Now Streaming On Netflix

Netflix has updated its streaming horror selection. A whole ton of crap, like Dr Orloff's Monster, Dr. Orloff and the Invisible Man, the Howling 5 & 6, and 5 Dolls For an August Moon.

With the exception of 5 Dolls (a Mario Bava flick I don't think I've ever heard before) all of these are Horror movies on my List (i.e. I haven't ever seen.) But the one I'm most excited about, almost to the point of being giddy, is Zombie Lake. I finally get to see Zombie Lake! I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it! :D

Which no doubt means the last shred of good taste has left me. Probably for good this time. Not surprising, really. After I watched Blood Freak it did threaten.

But anyway. I'm off to watch it now! I see that Jess Franco helped with the screenplay. Last thing of his I watched was also a zombie flick: Oasis of the Zombies. Surely Zombie Lake couldn't be worse than Oasis, right?

Right?

Right?

Please?

Currently trapped between this reality and the next battling rabid stuffed alligators in order to keep you all safe. Ingrates.

Zombie Lake is... an experience. It tries, bless its stupid little heart.

The only thing I really remember is that Ed Wood-worthy line, "Let's get away from this heap of hicks."

I think OASIS was worse, due mostly to it's being more boring. There's so much 'stuff' happening in ZOMBIES LAKE at any given moment it has a certain berserk entertainment value that's missing from OASIS. It's certainly better shot, too, assuming all prints of OASIS are as murky as the one I have on a fairly old VHS release. For what it's worth, LAKE also features 70% more nudity than your average horrible and inept monster movie, which at least keeps things interesting aesthetically.

It features 70% more nudity than an OB/GYN med school lecture.
