Monster of the Day #691

I haven’t actually seen this one, but I’ve only heard good things. Of all the ’70s revisionist vampire films, this one might be the most revisioniest.

  • Romero’s masterpiece. The perfect cure for all the Twilight crap.

Martin. A movie I have wanted to see for a long time.

  • Cullen Waters

There’s been a healthy chunk of change between when my brother Eric and I watched this. We didn’t care for it then; whether that would remain true now I can’t say.

It’s funny. Dawn of the Dead is a hundred times bloodier than Martin, yet I can watch DOTD over and over again (and have) whereas Martin made me so squeamish that I could only get through it once. DOTD is make-believe. Martin is too real, too believable, too close for comfort; you might want to call it “Martin: Portrait of Teen-Aged Serial Killer.” Good movie, though, I must say.

  • Flangepart

    “Martin-The pouty vampire.”
