Monster of the Day #690

What a wonderful film. So far ahead of its time that if they revived it now, it would be considered utterly derivative. (Plus they would completely ruin it.) This is one of those projects, like Buckaroo Banzai or Remo Williams, that clearly was meant to kick off a series, and that makes you weep because it didn’t.

    Capt. Kronos? That’s my guess.

  • kgb_san_diego

I do not have a guess, but such high praise from the master makes me curious. What is this?

  • I’ll go with Flangepart and say that I think it’s Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter. It reminds me of a scene from the film.

How I would love to see that movie. Even Youtube only has the trailer. Somebody please post the whole thing !

‘Captain Kronos’ is a pretty darn good movie, I need to pick up the DVD sometime.

Is she bleeding or is she growing a flower in her cleavage?

Sorry, this movie just didn’t do it for me.
Horst Janson was a stiff, the plot “twists” could be spotted a mile away, and the swordfighting action was lame, even with the venerable William Hobbs (Rob Roy) aboard as fight choreographer.
On the other hand, it did feature Caroline Munro as its leading lady, sooo….

  • I haven’t seen the film in a really long time, but I do believe it’s CAPTAIN KRONOS. I recall really enjoying it. I wish I’d taped it when I had the chance.
