Arsenic and Old Lace on TCM tonight…

7:00 CST. A great movie, with Cary Grant at his muggingest, Raymond Massey quite convincing and menacing in a part Boris Karloff played on Broadway (as a character who looks like Boris Karloff), and featuring one of the great screen roles for one of my very, very favorite actors, Peter Lorre.

Did Ray have Joan River’s plastic surgeon work on him?

  • Greenhornet

Great movie! I have discribed it to several friends and they wanted to see it BADLY.

  • “CHAAAAAAAAARGE!!!!!”

A classic. Wouldn’t let halloween pass by without a screening!

I like it because I got to play the Karloff role in the Senior Class play.  Yes, that is what they gave me after I asked for a small part.

My god, I love this movie.  The metafictional part with Grant describing in detail the idiotic character in the play he watched who allowed himself to be imprisoned had tears in my eyes.

And as an inhabitant of Melbourne, Australia, I always had a soft spot for the loving descriptions of the ‘Melbourne method….’

Finally, of course…..”Insanity runs in my family. [beat] It practically gallops….’
