Congrats to Blackhawks fans…

I’m not going to even pretend to jump on this bandwagon, since I have never been a hockey fan.  However, my sincere congratulations to the long-suffering fans of the Chicago Blackhawks.  Their drought has been a long one.  (Not that I would know what that’s like.)  Congrats also to the players, and to the organization behind them, which has done a simply AMAZING job turning this team around and reigniting interest in hockey in this town in just a few years.  Kudos all around.

I’m a huge hockey fan, but not a Blackhawks’ fan. Nevertheless, your city’s team was a worthy champion.

Poor Cutesie. He now has nowhere to hide.

I jumped on the Blackhawks bandwagon like half of Chicago did. I probably watched more hockey games in the last 2 years than my entire life! It’s amazing how putting the home games on free TV, 2 great draft picks (Kane & Toews), & a winning product can completely change a team’s image. I know this is very mean to say, but Old Man Wirtz kicking the bucket was the best thing to happen to the Blackhawks. It allowed his competent son to lead this team into the 21st century.

Congrats to the Blackhawks. As a Boston sports fan I know what long droughts are like. Now the Toronto Maple Leafs have the longest dry spell (since 1964). All in all, this decade has not been bad for Chicago sports

  • Well, except for the Sox winning the World Series. That sucked.
