Fun ’80s horror movie series on YouTube….

The Movie Timelines channel is doing The ’80s Project, a thing where the host is watching *all* the horror movies released in the ’80s. At first I assumed he meant just the theatrically released ones (alone a massive task), but now I’m not sure if he’s not including released on video ones, which is insane. In any case, each video is made of a series of around 8-10 three minute capsule reviews / histories of each film sequentially by release date. It’s crazy. He took like ten half hour long videos to cover just 1980; he’s currently four chapters into 1981. This is a long haul project, I assume it’s going to take five or six years to cover in full. Anyway, he certainly deserves some love. Check ’em out.

    Looks like a cool channel.

It’s pretty great. What a commitment, though. And if I’m reading this correctly, it looks like he’s at the same time planning to run through all the sci-fi films of the ’80s. Just utterly nuts.

  • What I’ve seen so far has been very good.

Yeah, the format is just right for this sort of thing. Enough time is spent on each film that you get a genuine taste of it, but short enough that it’s at least theoretically possible he’ll finish the Project in five years. Good stuff so far.

Sounds cool! Will check it out!

It does sound like a long-haul project, like the guy who wanted to collect every Atari 2600 game ever…
