It’s supposed to be Kaylee from Firefly.  Yeesh.  Not that 1500 people would be a Kaylee statue, but that 1500 people are enough into the show to buy an anime style Kaylee statue.

It’s 4 1/2 inches tall and retails for about 50 bones (!).

    “Firefly” fans are like Mac fans, or anime fans–they’re pretty much nuts about their fandom. Yes, I can see a “Firefly” fan buying this. Perhaps several–one to put on the mantlepiece, the other to be stored so as to remain forever pristine, and a third for a vault buried fifty feel below ground.

    Ah, I see that they’re trying to do “anime smile” eyes (like this: ^_^ ). But they’re set up so high it looks like she just has eyebrows and no eyes at all. Total fail all around… d-:

    (I’m not a Browncoat, but I lurk at the kind of places where this is old news.)

    1,500 people? Not inconceivable. Can’t stop the signal, baby. And besides, it’s “only” $45 several places on the net.

    Amusingly, the recently announced figure of Captain Mal Reynolds met with decidedly less favorable reactions from the faithful.
