Watch Party Query

I like to switch it up, and people know, and we’ve watched a spate of color action movies recently. So I thought a nice, clunky old poverty row horror film would be nice.

The only issue I can see with that is that most such films run about an hour. Would anyone feel like it’s silly to get together for only an hour (of movie)? the way the thing works is that you send out the video address to attendees, so if we wanted to watch, say, a second short movie, we’d have to all leave, send out a second invitation, and then have everyone (who was interested) return. And of course then we’ll suddenly in the two hour range, maybe a bit more. I’ve been hesitant to stray much from the 90 minute range, which seems to me to be the perfect amount of time.

Anyway, thoughts and comments welcome. Next Watch Party this Friday.

It’s a pity Amazon doesn’t allow you to program “An evening’s entertainment.” So you could have a Fleischer Superman cartoon, a Three Stooges short, and a Poverty Row cheapie all on one invitation.

I have no objection to shorter fare, myself.

  • I don’t mind a short movie, besides, this crowd would then just chat another half hour anyway. Although I like BC’s idea, even though it would require two links, do a cartoon or a short subject first.

Add an “A” picture to that and a newsreel and you’ve got a 30’s day at the movies, such as my father and uncles used to tell me about.

It would work for me this Friday since I have to get ready for a long drive the next day.

    Sounds good to me.

I’m just along for the ride, do whatever sounds good to you Ken.

  • I’m okay with a short night, as I get up early morning for work. Were you to do a second feature, I’d probably have to bow out.
