I don’t French, so I don’t know from the title if Godzilla is fighting a robot, or if the two are fighting by doing the Robot. If so, MechaGodzilla is, unsurprisingly, obviously off to an early lead.

Perhaps it’s just a general dance-off, although Godzilla’s busting out the Twist surely seemed woefully out of date at that time.

    Ken, the title is in Italian, not french. I think it translates as GODZILLA VERSUS THE ROBOT. I wonder why Big G is wearing a gorilla suit ?

    Heh…wonder what the films sound like in other languages…they say the dubbing is weird Japanese to English…

  • Yep. Might be the best Kong Movie since the original. My brother and I really enjoyed it.

    Glad to here that. They really needed to get away from the “cry for the big monkey” thing. Kong is a dangerous animal even if it is not his fault someone drug him out of his jungle.

    Of course, being the best Kong movie since the original is not exactly difficult…

    That’s a rather unexciting poster, especially for one of the better entries in the series.

    Although I like it much better with Ken’s interpretation.

    I don’t know, there’s nothing not to like about KKE.

  • I think KKE is great fun, but it’s not one of the better Kongs. Out of the eight Kong movies (not counting the animated one, which I’ve yet to see), I’d say it was about fourth in line, with Kong v. Godzilla just edging it out of third by a hair or two.

    Oh, believe me, I love Gorosaurus and Mecha-Kong and Dr. Who and all, but I don’t think being better than that movie is the hardest thing to pull off. It’s pretty good, but I recall it drags in places. (Admittedly it’s been a while since I’ve seen it…which I think was at one of the T-Fests, as our T-rex movie?)

    Nothing not to like? Eh, maybe that lead actress.

    Being better than KKvG is the standard for this new one. I think that’s the best since the original, personally. Curious which you think is better?

    The animated one, unsurprisingly, is atrocious. Showing it back-to-back with the animated “Titanic” movie would be a really good way to lose friends. Luckily, we’ve already shown the Kong one, so Ken and Sandy can’t pull that double feature without going against their general rule of not re-showing movies.
