So let me get this straight!

This is a movie focused on Garth. The guy who is in the lunatic asylum episode of Star Trek. It will go into his history. And discuss the events that made him famous.

Not a bad idea. He does seem to be a character that needed exploring. Much like Khan in Star Trek to the Wrath of Khan. They might be able to mine some interesting material.

Their kickstarter a campaign was able to raise $0.5 million. So good luck to them.

Here is a video of their vision:

I think the weird part is that the above documentary will appear on Discovery Channel as a real event. :D

LOL, don't tempt them! A friend sent me this about a month ago, pretty cool but it looks more the Abrams stuff than the real thing.

Sadly, yeah. Well...the Constitution class cruisers still in space dock seemed right, ST/TOS wise, but those other ships...they looked like they had the Particle cannon used before the Phaser became standard for short range work.

My oh my. How Abrams has fallen.

When Abrams films came out in 2009, everyone was energized that in franchise had come back from the grave. The special effects were new and exciting. The characters were introduced to a new generation. And Star Trek was in public consciousness again.

But then cracks started to show up. There are logical inconsistencies in the story. Some of the characters motives were out of nowhere. And they were relying too much on the uniforms and names to carry the film rather than creating a whole new story.

"Into Darkness" shattered the illusion that the franchise's back on its feet. Not a surprise really. The writing team that brought us the "Into Darkness" was the same team that brought us "Prometheus." The bloom fell off that rose so quickly you can practically hear the thud. So we really should not be surprised we got a disappointment in the end. And a Star Trek convention, this film was voted the worst of the franchise.

Hopefully, they'll pull of a Disney and give it to a filmmaker has more willing to give the franchise the faithfulness it deserves.

I had fun with the first film. Don't take it seriously, and it's okay. But effects aren't the key.
It's the characters that matter, and it's not the original universe. The IDW comics make that clear.
I'd love to have seen Spock show the 'new guys' a holo image of the crew Spock left behind.
I can just hear the comments!

Scotty: "Aye, I'm gonna get fat?"
Uhura: "At least I'll age well."
Chekov: "I'm not blond?"
Sulu: "Oh,my."
Bones: "Man, do I look ornery."
Kirk: "So...I'm gonna get fat?"
Young Spock: "Well...this is...how is this logical, Sir?"
Old Spock: "To keep your possible future from getting complacent."
