This is obviously done by the same person who made yesterday's poster, and if anything I like it even more. The presence of Pam Grier certainly helps. I got to see the original Miracle on 34th Street on the big screen last night. What a great movie.
That poster would have definitely inspired me to buy a ticket. It certainly indicates that the film, while it has its cheesy elements, is going for a bit more depth and class than most Blaxploitation horror flicks. Again, though, much of the success of those efforts rests on the broad shoulders of William Marshall.
Typically, the French poster from yesterday went for a sex angle, while the Japanese poster doesn't just stick with the more violence-themed American poster art, but ramps it up a bit.
It's hard to think of a role that raised to a higher level of quality as much as this one. Or the King of Cartoons. Weird that nobody ever remade the film with Tony Todd, though. A missed opportunity, I think.
As is my wont now, I basically watch anime.
