Friday’s Watch Party feature was the Paul Naschy monster rally Assignment: Terror (1970), aka Monsters of Terror, aka Dracula vs Frankenstein, aka The Man from Uumo, aka several other titles. It did play in drive-ins and grind houses here under the Dracula vs Frankenstein title, one of three (!) separate films to play that year under that title. For what it’s worth, this is the best of the three, although considering the other two were Al Adamson and Jesse Franco movies, that’s probably not that surprising.
It was briefly considered to have Naschy play all the monsters, but that would have slowed filming to a crawl. For what it’s worth, it the first film to feature a werewolf fighting a mummy.
Discord Watch Party this Friday.
