Anyway, given the chance to do a MOTD is a thrill, and I came up with several good choices. Ultimately, I felt this was the best one to go with.

Ken could do a whole week of this theme, Monsters That Were Only On The Poster!

I remember studying this image pretty intently before I saw the film (as the film's poster was used on the video tape Pop bought when I was a little kid). The movie was so good I didn't notice the lack of a giant manta ray -or a futuristic bathysphere- until later when I was studying the box again.
