The Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker years of Doctor Who were surprisingly friendly to giant monsters. These where generally brought to life with lovably clunky puppets. I’m sure kids snort with derision when they see the effects work, but they warm my heart in a way that the CGI beasties of, say, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship never will.
London had already been invaded by Daleks and Cybermen, so why not Dinosaurs? Why not, indeed.
