Monster of the Day #3988

It’s undoubtedly a sign of imminent senility, but each Fest it’s more likely that, when perusing the absolutely essential roster of What We Watched assembled by Chad R., that I see a title or two and think, “What the hell is that?” This year it was The Dead Don’t Talk, and it took several minutes of research on the Interwebs before I was like, “Oh,yeeeeeeeeeeeah.” This was a movie I watched less than two weeks ago.

Once I (kinda) remembered the film, though, it made a lot more sense. I’m assuming an Italian was in a continental bar bragging that nobody could make a more boring, wheel-spinning horror movie than his countrymen, whereupon some Turks at a nearby table said, “Hold my beer.” The Dead Don’t Entertain Talk is a borefest about a ghost (or vampire; although the word doesn’t appear in the subtitles, I’m sure I heard somebody call him a Wurdulak). In any case, he’s just a guy in a ratty hat and trenchcoat who veeeeeeeery slowly stalks his victims while incessantly laughing. And I mean incessantly. Remember the laughing pirate guy from Frankenstein Island? It’s like that, only times ten. Chad R said it was worse then listening to me talk about anime.

OK,he might not have said it. But he was thinking it.

That ended Friday (after five movies and three more watched on Thursday). The Fest official was the next day.
