As I’m sure everyone here has heard me opine, I love the late ’70s as being the time when there was a bumper crop of horror movie that basically worked while also being extremely goofy. It’s a sweet spot I just adore. And if I were to pick a poster child for this sort of thing, even more than The Car I’d pick William Girdler’s final film (due to a tragic accidental death that cut his life short), The Manitou (1978).
Therefore I was extremely happy this week when I saw the Severin Films YouTube channel had posted the trailer for that very film. As you’d expect, that’s basically an announcement that Severin will be releasing a new remastered Blu Ray / 4K edition. And sure enough, the official announcement has been made. I’m not sure when it will come out, but surely before the end of the year. Man, I can’t wait.
