Monster of the Day

Neat.

Hmm, I've got to wrap up my long unfinished (or un-finn-ished...see what I did there?) review of this someday.

  Tales to Astonish continued doing monster stories for a while, until it went superhero and became the home of Ant-Man's adventures. There's some great Kirby monsters there, but sadly they started forgoing the purple dialogue balloons we've been so entertained by this week. Then I remembered this obscure comic.

Water monsters, I just love 'em.

  I saw Guardians of the Galaxy--which is a fantastic, joyful film--over the weekend. While I long ago featured Groot's first comic book appearance as a beastie in one of Jack Kirby's monster books from the '60s, I'll  stick with that theme. After all, any one of these guys could be international movie stars…

Here's another Voyage blobby monster. I'm out of black and white monsters for the show; the first season only occasionally featured monsters, a situation reversed during the later seasons. Also, I used the black and white giant whale in an earlier run. So...
