This reminds me of the fight with Harryhausen's walrus. Again, monsters have been fairly light on the ground in the Marvel movies, although there's enough fantasy stuff in it to feature some briefly. Sadly, no Fin Fang Foom or anything, yet. Well, Groot, but he's a good guy now, and not nearly as giant.

This poster promises a monster far more elaborate than the one in the film, but to be fair, there's some nudity and lots of violence, so I doubt audiences of the time were disappointed.
