Monster of the Day #2048

Not a great movie by any stretch, but I'm pleased that somebody out there might stumble on it on Amazon Prime like I stumbled on it on my teeny black and white TV set back in the day. (Although they won't have to fiddle with the rabbit ears during the whole thing.)

There are several prints of Devil Bat on Amazon Prime. None of them that I saw were pristine, but a couple at least are watchable. And let's admit it, when we grew up watching it on analogue TV, it didn't look perfect either. Fun, fun movie though.

I don't think Amazon Prime has a lot of Hammer stuff, but they do have at least two later vampire films, the obscure but phantasmagorical Vampire Circus and the boob-obsessed (even for Hammer) Twins of Evil.

Some of the AIP and other poverty row films on Amazon Prime are public domain copies, and range greatly in quality. The copy of Attack of the Giant Leeches is all but unwatchable. Oddly, though, the copy of Attack of the Crab Monsters is quite good. One thing to be aware of, of course,…

Is this the best werewolf movie since The Howling? It's certainly a nominee. Watch it for free if you have Amazon Prime. I hope everyone's having a good run up to Christmas. And a few weeks until 2020! 20 years since Y2K destroyed civilization as we knew it.

Ugh. OK, yesterday I have a flu bug thing going, luckily it's gone. Today I got up early (since I slept a lot more than usual yesterday, which was nice), but a Microsoft update patch took a LOT longer to download than I would have thought. I didn't think it would finish before I…

Want a good (well, you know) old Italian vampire film? Slaughter of the Vampires, on Amazon Prime. I mean, it's no Black Sunday, but it'll scratch that itch.

These are repeats, but I thought it would be nice to spend a week or two shouting out to Amazon Prime, who has been quietly adding a LOT of schlock cinema over the last year or so. Since I basically subscribe for the free 2 day shipping, the gigantic amount of streaming video they…

Warning: This is the worst of the three movies released in the States in the early '70s under the title Dracula vs. Frankenstein.
