I haven't seen Saturday the 14th, which doesn't have the great reputation. Along the lines of Transylvania-6-500, I guess. Most weirdly, it seems more like a Ghoulies kind of thing than the slasher parody the title suggests. Still, probably worth a free watch (if you have Amazon Prime).

Looking for a good Christmas-themed horror movie on Amazon Prime? Try Rare Exports from Finland. I don't want to get too much into it, but if you liked Troll Hunter, I think you'll like this. For people who get busy, and who knows, maybe I will, Merry Christmas everyone.

Not a great movie by any stretch, but I'm pleased that somebody out there might stumble on it on Amazon Prime like I stumbled on it on my teeny black and white TV set back in the day. (Although they won't have to fiddle with the rabbit ears during the whole thing.)

There are several prints of Devil Bat on Amazon Prime. None of them that I saw were pristine, but a couple at least are watchable. And let's admit it, when we grew up watching it on analogue TV, it didn't look perfect either. Fun, fun movie though.

I don't think Amazon Prime has a lot of Hammer stuff, but they do have at least two later vampire films, the obscure but phantasmagorical Vampire Circus and the boob-obsessed (even for Hammer) Twins of Evil.

Some of the AIP and other poverty row films on Amazon Prime are public domain copies, and range greatly in quality. The copy of Attack of the Giant Leeches is all but unwatchable. Oddly, though, the copy of Attack of the Crab Monsters is quite good. One thing to be aware of, of course,…
