Monster of the Day #3250

I was ruminating yesterday on why the painted poster art for The Killer Shrews didn't exploit the actually kind of cool look (especially if artistically reinterpreted) of the shrews. I guess it makes more sense if you look at the poster art for the film made by the same producers to act as Shrew's…

Last Friday's Watch Party subject was The Killer Shrews, and needless to say it provided a very good time. I find the poster a little weird. Giant Claw, there's a movie where you understand why they kept the monster's face off the poster. Meanwhile, although the barely disguised nature of the shrews as dogs…

Man, Vincent Price was creepy as heck as Michael Jackson. Might as well stick with this week's theme. Can't believe Halloween is only two months and change from now. Anyway, Happy Friday, everyone. Watch something stupid. In fact, watch something stupid with us tonight at our Watch Party.

Who doesn't love Dr. Phibes, the only monster in Vincent Price's catalogue? I first saw it as a kid at the drive-in. Ah, those were the days. And I showed it at T-Fest a few years ago, unsurprisingly to the delight of my fellow attendees. Envy me, mortals! To my great delight, my…

Sadly, the print on Prime isn't as good as this, but it's watchable, and hey, I think I know what the Watch Party will be viewing next week. Watch Party next Friday, by the way.

It's not a classic by any means, but Queen of Space Blood has it's points of interest, including a supporting turn by Dennis Hopper, one of those embarrassing "cut in" cameos by Basil Rathbone, and of course John Saxon. Also arguably the original version of Lifeforce.
