Toho made three pretty similar movies, although sadly I can't find a good still for Secret of the Telegian. This is the only one commercially available on DVD.

Richard Moll appeared in quite a few dire horror/sci-fi films, this is one of them. Here he's the leader of a bunch of mutants who all have one side of their face melted, which seems like an odd mutation to me. I guess they are meant to suggest the Cyclops?

Here are some rather adorable looking sand snake puppets, although like everything in Metalstorm (including Tim Thomerson), they were rather inertly used.
