Original Django back in theaters…

Tarantino; some hate ‘im, some love ‘im. Still, if he gets stuff like this to happen, you have to give the man points. The original Franco Nero Spaghetti Western classic will be hitting theaters in select towns starting at the end of December.

Seriously, more of this please.

Is it a coincidence that a new PC version of Django is hitting the theatres for Christmas ?

  • Ken_Begg

I would have to think not.

  • Flangepart

Wait…a politically Correct version of Django? Is that even possable?
Might go the way of ‘Deanzilla’, right?

  • Ken_Begg

It’s sort of a riff on his his last movie, Inglorious Bastards. That was a World War II Jewish revenge fantasy, with Jews killing Nazis. This is a (pre? post?) Civil War era Black revenge fantasy, with Django as a (I’m assuming) former slave killing evil racist white dudes. Kill Bill was also a revenge film, and while I like Tarantino a lot (although he certainly has his flaws), he might want to take a flier on another sort of film at some point. That said, the guy writes *scripts*, which you don’t see much in Hollywood these days.
