    To get away from the puns for a moment … how the hell does this thing walk?  It has a tangle of roots instead of feet and should be tripping over itself constantly.

     It looks like he doesn’t walk, he just sort of grows everywhere and spreads.  His humanoid appearance is probably just for show (and for talking).

    The beaver idea is pretty good, too. Calling Asylum! Super Tree vs. MegaBeaver.

    Groot has been re-imagined and used in the Marvel space adventures lately. The newest version of Guardians of the Galaxy, to be more specific. Along with Rocket Raccoon and some elements of the old ROM the Space Knight property that Marvel owns the rights for. Really fun stuff overall.  Groot doesn’t have as much dialogue these days though.

     I’d say quoting one line from one song from one R/B special is, indeed, fairly obscure.

    On the other hand, that’s the line that’s stuck in my brain all these years, which is why I recognized it.
