    I know this topic is well over, but I couldn’t resist translating the original haiku into Japanese. My haiku always made the instructor cry (usually he cried “why me?”):

    Furenchi Furai,
    yuka ni furu
    namida aji

    The french fry
    falls like rain to the ground,
    tear flavored.
