  • Lawyer Ku

Kirk, you forgot the last movie:

Dr. Otto and the Riddle of the Gloom Beam

If you haven’t seen it, you ain’t seen anything yet, brother.

Work willing, see you in August.

  • BeckoningChasm

So, is there a website upon which one may purchase tickets? Or doth those who wish to participate bring yon shiniest axes, therefor to combat and thus doth procure thy seats? Or, to cut to the proverbial chase, how does one obtain ye tickets of entry?

  • Chad R.

Or, to cut to the proverbial chase, how does one obtain ye tickets of entry?

Hidden inside DVDs of Troll 2 are five Golden Tickets that will allow a fortunate few entry to the untold wonders of T-Fest.

Just kidding. It’s all free. Bring snacks to share.

  • Chad R.

Also, my contacts inside the secretive T-Fest Corporation tell me the lineup will be:
    Birdemic
    Birdemic
    Birdemic
    Birdemic

    break for lunch

    Birdemic
    The Magnificent Ambersons
    Birdemic
    Birdemic

The Magnificent Ambersons may be cut for time.

  • GalaxyJane

So I am going to Chicago and Ken heads to Texas? Sounds like a conspiracy to me!

  • The tickets are a really cheap $19.99 each, plus $149 shipping and handling. Send cash directly c/o Sandy Petersen 108 Reliance Court, Rockwall TX 75032. No checks or money orders, please. Please allow sixteen weeks for delivery.

    Seats are limited! Apply soon!

Offer not available in New Jersey.

  • The Guildhall is undergoing renovation which might be done by August 21. If it IS, then we’ll have a way better venue than before. If the renovation is not yet complete, then we will still have the same room available that we used for Tween Fest.

Which I personally thought was pretty suitable.

  • Lawyer Ku

“Offer not available in New Jersey.”

    Sorry Tennessee!

  • BeckoningChasm

Would love to go. I’ll try hard to raise the nearly $500 needed. I’ll also try to be way less dull than I was at B-Fest.

Maybe I can pawn by PS2…

  • but if you pawn your PS2, how will you watch DVDs?

  • Jane — IS THAT THE SAME WEEKEND?! )&@~#$*(@&$

  • BC — Does it really cost that much for you to hit Dallas? Cripes.

  • The Rev. D.D.

Ah man, does that mean Jane’s not gonna be there?

Do you guys need to move it up or down a weekend?…

  • Sadly, we can’t really move it. This was the only weekend that worked. (Plus I already bought my plane tickets.) That really, really sucks, though.

  • GalaxyJane

I actually think that I am flying into Chicago on Sunday the 22 and will be there in class through Friday, but I don’t have everything finalized yet. But it does probably mean I’ll miss Dallas, just don’t think I can manage to get back to NC from there quickly enough to catch my flight up north with my classmates the same day. Drat.

If I could just convince the travel office that it’s in their best interest to send me on a three-cornered flight and leave a day early….

  • And then I’ll be out of Chicago until Thursday! What a suckfest! Sorry, Jane.

I will say, this is the reason that we’re thinking of making T(ween) Fest an annual event. Once a year is just too easy to miss.

  • BeckoningChasm

Ken–haven’t priced anything, I was just going by Sandy’s “ticket price.”

    Jane, you’re in NC?

  • Tween Fest appears like it will be an annual thing, probably in the Feb/March time frame. So far it doesn’t have even the limp excuse of a theme of T-Fest (namely, a tyrannosaur movie). Ken suggested Texas-based movies, I guess like R.O.T.O.R., a grittily accurate portrayal of life in Dallas Metroplex. The problem with that, though, is that it will eventually lead to us watching Larry Buchanan films.

  • GalaxyJane

BC- Yup, Fort Bragg to be specific. At least until September.

If we turn to the collected works of Larry Buchanan, I think I’ll spend the whole festival curled under the table in the fetal position.

  • Mr. Rational

    Woo-hoo! August 21st, I can’t WAIT! Bow chicka chicka…

  • Reed

I very much hope to make it in August. My health issues are mostly resolved and I’m ready to face down a day of bad movies and questionable company!

And cookies. Those were some damn fine cookies.

Jane, shame you won’t be able to make it.

  • If Jane promises to come for Tween Fest she might be able to receive a degree of forgiveness. What about it?

  • GalaxyJane

Actually found out today that I don’t head to Chicago until Tuesday, so I am hoping to be able to make it after all.

Y’all make me feel so loved. *blush*

  • The Rev. D.D.

I’m crossing my fingers for you, GJ, and I know a lot of us are well. Also for Reed, and, well, everyone else who makes this event so much damn fun that I immediately start looking forward to the next one around about the time I finish my recap.

  • Reed

The real question is: When are we going to get the long awaited Pre T-Fest Sandy Peterson GM’d round of Call of C’thulhu?

OK, that may be a rather specialized question, but I think it still has merit. We’re a specialized demographic.

  • Jane: Would you still be in Chicago only through Saturday then? I’m still hoping we can get together there, too.

I can honestly say the event would not be the same without you, and clearly that is not a minority opinion. We hope to see you there.

  • The Rev. D.D.

Reed–Oh man, don’t give me easily-crushed dreams like that. I haven’t had a chance to play that in years, and with the Big Daddy of the whole thing running it…

I’m just gonna stop right there before I have a nerdgasm.

  • GalaxyJane

Ken- I’ll actually be there until sometime the following Monday, so I definitely hope we’ll get a chance to hang out.

I feel like such a bad nerd, the GURPS girl has never played “real” COC, although I did have a few friends that adapted it for for the aforesaid system. Is that some sort of blasphemy? Should I be looking out my window for some eldritch horror coming to drag me off to the void between the ancient stars?

  • Chad R.

The real question is: When are we going to get the long awaited Pre T-Fest Sandy Peterson GM’d round of Call of C’thulhu?

I got to play in a game of his at a con many years ago. It was quite a blast. It inspired me to start GMing CoC, something I still do to this day.

  • Reed

GURPS is enough of an eldritch horror that you don’t really need Old Ones on top of it.

Sandy ran at an Origins I attended several years ago and a friend of mine who isn’t even particularly into CoC played in his game. I didn’t even know it was happening at the time. That’s what I get for not reading the catalog. I probably wouldn’t have noticed that Harrad was a sex college.
