Kurosawa’s Ran on the big screen next week….

Just a reminder to all us mid-western types: Ran will be playing at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre next week. They promise a new, 35mm print.

I’ve seen Ran in a theater before, and it’s definitely worth it.

I can’t believe I didn’t know this was the centennial of Kurosaws’s birth.

For anyone in the Washington DC area they’re showing some of Kurosaw’s movies at the AFI theater in Silver Spring starting in May. Also in May they’ll be showing movies starring Michael Caine.
