I *think* I saw this like 40 years ago, probably on VHS from a rental store. I think Anyway, before I left for the airport to return home they tossed on this classic anime film, Vampire Hunter D. It should be noted that when Japan incorporated vampires into their media, they made them very strong, the king of monsters. The titular D is basically a mix of Blade and Solomon Kane, and helps a fetching young thing (with an enormous ’90s anime forehead) fight the local vampire lords. I think I still like Fist of the North Star better, if we’re taking action anime from this era, but even so this is pretty great.
Sadly, I had to leave before it ended, but that’s OK, its on HiDive, which I subscribe to. The English dub (ick) can be watched for free on YouTube.
Happy Friday, everyone. Watch something stupid this weekend.
