The film for the final (six in a row) October Watch Party was The Boogens. I really like The Boogens, it’s sort of my go-to film showing how well a small, independent movie can be made. I can’t say it’s great in any aspect, but it’s really good in all of them; script, direction, acting, set design, and, of course, it’s horrible/adorable practical effect monsters. Participents were calling it a proto-Tremors, and it’s not a bad comp. There’s a quite decent print on YouTube, and Kino Lorber offers a very good Blu Ray for it.
