Monster of the Day #3631

With companies scrambling to release nearly all of the hundreds of Shaw Bros. kung fu movies–Shout Factory is releasing it’s fifth such set, Arrow it’s third, etc.–they are starting to hit other Asian movie niches. It’s a great time to be a B-movie geek. Shout Factory has released sets of erotic scf-fi and ghosts, as well as it’s crazy set of movies like Watari the Ninja Boy (which they currently have posted on YouTube–watch it!)

Japanese horror is getting a better look too. This is from the new Daiei Gothic set, featuring three films from the ’60s (ish). This is The Ghost of Yotsuya, made in 1959. I’ve never seen any of the three, so needless to say, I’m excited.

  • Did you hear that? My wallet just screamed in pain….

    Dude, tell me about it.

Yeah, a bunch of vinyl Godzilla model kits have been reissued for the anniversary and I picked up several of them, none of them cheap.

And now you've got me looking at that Daiei Gothic set and a few others for myself…
