Posting may be intermittent over the next two weeks, as we’ll be having some of you folks in this weekend for Basement Fest and then some of them will be in the following weekend as well for B-Fest.

    So, I watched the “Dawn of the Dead” 4k transfer by a company called Second Sight. It was astonishing. The picture was incredible. The sound was a bit soft, but so what, right? And yes, this set has the “director’s cut” (cough) the “Cannes Cut” (Yay!) and the “Argento cut” (cough) and a bunch of extras.

    I also watched another Ultra Q episode “Terror of the Sweet Honey.” I don’t know who the elderly scientist guy was, but if Japan needed a Jonathan Winters (and who doesn’t) the bee scientist here fit the bill perfectly.

  • I need a new copy of Dawn of the Dead. My DVD is so old (HOW OLD IS IT!) that you have to flip it over midway through to watch the whole film.

    Apparently you can get the 4K version from Amazon still. Not cheap, nor are the 4K player and the 4K tv and the 4K cable, but then, what are ya gonna do? PS: the original version of “Lifeforce” is on 4K. And before you ask, yes.
