Monster of the Day #3415

“Sabu and I were startled to see a kimono dragon walking upright on its hind legs. That said, its posture was terrible.”

Happy Friday, everyone. Watch something stupid this weekend. As indicated before, no Watch Party next Friday as I’ll be in Dallas watching Godzilla Minus One. In any case, enjoy your weekend!

    “It’s the rare Profile-Only Beast!”

The dragon is naked, did he lose his kimono? ;-)

Not stupid, but I watched the first episode of “Ultra Q” which I’d ordered after it was discussed here, and um, didn’t watch until now (a year and a half later). Based on the one episode, I guess it’s a sort of Jonny Quest show (hey they both have the letter Q in the title). Blue ray image is outstanding–a little too outstanding for the Gomess costume (you don’t see any zippers at least).
Since I was working on a project, I decided to watch something I’d already seen, so I watched the blue ray of “Quatermass 2.” All the Quatermass films are excellent (the 3rd one of the greatest SF films ever). “2” is not quite to that level but well worth seeing.

I liked ‘Ultra Q’ more than ‘Ultra Man’ or ‘Ultra Seven’. I wish they’d done more episodes.

And I really enjoyed the three Quatermass films from the ’60s. The ’70s film I didn’t like that much though.

Good news, there was a brief but very fun Ultra Q revival called Neo Ultra Q that is available on Blu Ray or you can buy the (possibly non-permanent) streaming rights on Amazon.

Cool, I picked up a bunch of ‘Ultra’ Blu-Rays and DVDs when Deep Discount DVDs had them on sale and have been watching them in order (still on Ultra Seven). I checked and yes I have ‘Neo Ultra Q’ on Blu-Ray!
