    If you start using the covers for G-8 and his Battle Aces, Ken, you can keep going for months. These guys fought everything. Living Skeletons, chemically-created werewolves, leopard men, tiger men, gorilla men, poison-spewing dragons, vampires, Herr Grun and his zombie hordes, Stahlmaske and his super-tanks, giant bats, a flying sword, giant flying heads that shot bullets out of their eye sockets, unfrozen Vikings, heck they even faced off with a giant Satan clawing planes out of the sky. This was one crazy title!

    Don’t you see? As a mindless undead, the skeleton is trying to do what it did in life, but it doesn’t have eyes so it can’t see it’s holding them backwards!

    I…just saw it. It’s amazing, not only are they giant heads, they’re giant shrunken heads.

  • And that’s another thing: Presumable G-8 and his Battle Aces have eyes and they’re shooting at something below the skeletons.

    Definitely hanging from a balloon in the story, of which I have a reprint complete with illustrations. There is a gorgeous picture of a column of skeletons goose-stepping off to destroy the verdammt Allies as G-8 watches from hiding.

    Get the Adventure House reprint if you can, issue #29 in their sadly cut short attempt at reprinting all of the G-8 novels. It’s got some fine illustrations of skeletons that I think you’d enjoy.

    I’m re-reading the story right now. Maybe they’ll mention in it why G-8 isn’t doing the intelligent thing. I think this is supposed to be them making a pass at the balloon while simultaneously dodging anti-air and Fokkers flying defense.
