It’s weirdly difficult to find a picture from the recently dropped Skull Island anime (or anime-influenced cartoon) on Netflix. That doesn’t seem like a good sign. I watched like half of it, and it was fine. That was a while ago, though, so it’s not like I was inspired to finish the show immediately. Not sure if I’ll get back to it, but it is worth a look, and gets better, I thought, after the first episode.
More exciting for most of us, I think, is the upcoming Gamera anime coming to Netflix. Not sure when it’s due, but they’ve been advertising it for a while now. Let’s hope this is finally the one that Netflix completely nails, although frankly their general attempts at anime have been pretty mediocre on the main. So I’m hoping it’s at least as good as Godzilla Singular Point.
