Monster of the Day #3427

Weekend nearly here. I could get used to this three day work week. Oh, well, maybe eight or ten years from now.

Anyway, nice poster, obviously. Universal should give up, though. They will never recapture this magic. The world is just too different a place, now.

  • The thing is, they already have their own Universal Universe. All they need do is use the old movies as the basis of new ones, stop trying to be Marvel. Done right, they could generate interest in the classics and earn money on films already made.

Obviously it isn’t THAT easy. But it beats what they’ve been doing.

You could make one change to that painting for this joke:

“Wow, all the Universal monsters. Wait, you left out the invisible man”

    “No I didn’t”

  • kgb_san_diego

    Amen, sir.

  • Rock Baker

Dracula seems to be doing Cagney in THE PUBLIC ENEMY…

  • Gamera977

Is the monster tossing some random dude? I thought he looked like ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ at first.

  • Eric Hinkle

I’m not sure but I think that’s the doctor who tried slicing the Monster up in the original 1931 Frankenstein.

  • Gamera977

Ah, that would make more sense!

And the films just might be a teensy-tiny bit cheaper.
