    I went with a fresh screening of the Mexican masterpiece BATWOMAN. Didn’t notice the first time through that the writer was looking at more than just Batman for his influences. The mad plot to create fish men was culled directly from that episode of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea in which John Dehner was trying to create his own race of amphibians with penial gland extracts from human donors (The Men-Fish, the episode where Garry Merrill fills in for the ill Richard Basehart). Entire scenes and dialog were recreated for the Mexican movie. In fact, the exact same reveal (including the same effects techniques) was used as the experiment was first shown. Even the electronic control device came from the Voyage episode.

    Just one of those strange little connections you don’t expect to find. Makes one wonder if the rest of the movie was based on a Honey West episode or something like that.

    Someone posted “Low Blow” to YouTube in a pretty good print, so I watched that. That counts for something dumb. And to top it off, those hack frauds at RLM never mentioned the adorable puppies!

    I went to see ‘John Wick IV’ Sunday and there were trailers for two upcoming painfully unfunny ‘comedies.’ I think that fills out my ‘stupid’ quotient for the weekend.

    And yeah ‘JW:IV’ was friggin’ awesome! I haven’t been to the theater in years but this one was worth it. Big thanks to everyone who recommended them to me!
