Monster of the Day #3349

The midnight movie at B-Fest, as usual, was Plan 9. As usual (having seen it literally like 50 times), I tried to nap through it.  As always, the scariest thing about Plan 9 is Vampira’s tiny tiny waist. Yikes!

If you want to see some really strange and frightening images, search YouTube for “The Nightmare of Oz 1980.” I gather that this was all AI-generated, which is pretty impressive.

She would get that look by fasting for three days and then cinching herself down with that belt. The minute her show finished airing, she would dart across the street to the local hot dog vendor.

She was devoted to her role, but that can’t have done her health much good.

Cool, will check it out this weekend!

  • Gamera977

I wonder if she ever showed up still in make-up and costume, that’d be a hoot!

  • Rock Baker

For PLAN 9, she had to apply her own makeup at home and then take a bus to the studio. That scene in ED WOOD where she’s on the bus, that part was actually real.

I am embarrassed that I still haven’t seen ‘Ed Wood’. And me being a big Martin Landau fan and all I have no excuse.

No, you really don’t. Great movie!

  • Ken_Begg

Gamera, come to B-Fest next year!

  • Gamera977

I need to. I keep saying that I will. At this point I may be bouncing off the walls in a rubber room by this time next year though.
