Monster of the Day #3323

I hear you, brother! I once belonged to the Columbia House Record Club, too.

  • What’s a record?

  • 🐻 bgbear_rnh

They are flat and round and play music like CDs only groovier.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Is that three monsters, or one monster expanding to full size?

  • Beckoning Chasm

    What’s a CD?

  • 🐻 bgbear_rnh

somehow I knew some wiseguy would ask that

At my local Best Buy, you will not find CDs anywhere. And with the recent remodel, they got rid of DVDs as well.

At my local Wal-Mart, one of the things they have is lots and lots of vinyl. Near as I can tell, though, they don’t carry turntables.

Since we’re on the subject of my age, the first real gift I gave my wife after we started dating was her first CD player. Still have it somewhere. I guess CDs had a good run.

We have a couple of turntables, one newer one with a USB interface. I’ll put on a couple of Christmas vinyls closer to the 25th.

I would say records and CDs are round and flat like a Frisbee but there’s probably Zoomers that don’t know what a Frisbee is either…

  • Gamera977

I dunno but frankly it’s much more exciting than Sea Monkeys…

  • Gamera977

A record is something like World’s Largest Artichoke or the Most Peanuts Balanced on One Person’s Nose….

  • 🐻 bgbear_rnh

A Guinness for my friend Mr. G.

  • 🐻 bgbear_rnh

They are flat and round like a gluten-free organic vegan pizza.

  • My eldest works in the Wal-Mart electronics department and he gets frequent requests for VCRs. No they don’t have them and his usually response is to suggest trying the local thrift store.

  • Gamera977

Do they still make those at all? I’ve still got a few movies on VHS around somewhere, doubt they’re still playable though.
