While the cat looks pretty correct, is that a bat-owl or an owl-bat? Did they only have room for one flying creature so the artist decided to combine them?

The faces in the trees are interesting. This must be the tourist-y part of the forest from Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism.

BTW: Rented ‘My Bloody Valentine’ a few days ago- the real one from 1981. Cool flick, being trapped in a mine is scary enough- being trapped with a murderous whack-job is the cherry on top. Only big complaint is that Howard, the odious comic relief character, doesn’t get knocked off sooner.

And weird that the remake is so different from the original. It’s almost like they’d written up completely different scripts from the same original concept. Not surprising that the original 1981 film is the superior but you could watch both films as completely different movies.

Sometimes I wonder if these look so odd is because the artist was touching up and older work for another go around. It may have been an owl the first time around and the cat had better detail. They could also be doing a cut and paste.
