We ended Friday with Wizard’s Curse, a very fun Chinese sorcery film. I don’t remember any monsters, it was more like Natural Born Killers with a pair of psychotic lovers menacing some folks.

Foreign Fest continued on the actual Saturday Fest with Karate Girl, another extremely fun female revenge film that happily somethings verges on getting sleazy but never does. It’s most famous for a crazy death scene, and it definitely held up. Nice.

Sandy had never seen The Uninvited, so we finally showed Greydon Clark’s killer cat puppet classic. Folks were highly amused by George Kennedy and an ad libbed scene of a clearly drunk Clu Gulager monologing.

    Sandy was probably telling you a story to keep everyone else from feeling inadequate. Not sure I believe there is any bad movie Sandy has not seen. He probably hadn’t seen it thirty years ago though or else instead of the Cacodaemon spitting Lost Souls at Doom Guy we’d have gotten a Satanic Hell(o) Kitty burping up killer felines at the player.

    The biggest thing that confused me about this movie is why has it not been remade yet???

    I mean think of how awesome a CGI mutant cat thing could be??? We could give it cool new powers like the ability to fly or even turn invisible! Yes, invisible for sure! And have the size radically change from the size of a normal house cat to a pony from scene to scene.

    I’d hire two of the hottest Tik-Tok thots- um ‘influencers’ to play the gals. And maybe Nick Cage for the Alex Cord role and John Rhys Davies for George Kennedy. And one of the younger guys should be a rapper. Maybe all three of them….

    And the cat should be a secret Pentagon bio-weapons project. And should we re-set it in space? The possibilities….
