    First time he attacked something on the surface from under the water? Not battling another underwater monster? I think….yes, you are correct on that. I’m sure if we’re both forgetting something somebody will raise the issue.

    Of course, the very first few minutes of the very first Godzilla movie saw Godzilla destroying a boat from under the water.

    As a kid obsessed with Godzilla movies, I used to act out battles with my stuffed animals. I recall distinctly a teddy bear that acted as my King Kong analog, in fact.

    Ha, I don’t think we have many spring chickens left here.

    The kids still use “spring chickens,” right?

    Ha, yes, I’m sure we all had similar experiences. Of course when we were kids actual monster toys were few and far between. Kids today don’t know how good they have it! (Actually, kids don’t care. *We* buy all that stuff.)

    Yeah, that’s happened a number of times, he just crests and ships get destroyed. But I always kind of thought Godzilla was mostly a land animal, he just swam so he could get from land mass to land mass. Kind of an interesting turn in G v K.
