Monster of the Day #3280

The Monster was doing The Mash a lot earlier then we knew.

Dracula was so successful that Frankenstein was rushed into production, hitting theaters that same year. (Those were the days.) In this way Universal was to forever link the characters in the public consciousness.

    Wow, what a groove!

And I thought the only tune the Monster knew was ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’.

Or else he’s been struck by lightning a second time.

I like to think there’s a Bollywood version of ‘Frankenstein’ out there somewhere that’s all singing and dancing.

  • For some reason he looks like he’s dancing to Staying Alive. Disco Frankenstein.

Jeez. Why was there never a Disco Frankenstein? There was a Disco Duck…

  • Eric Hinkle

Too bad there isn’t a jazzier version of ‘Dry Bones’ for him to dance to. It’d go so well with how the Monster was made.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Now that I look again, he could be pitching a baseball.

  • Eric Hinkle

There’s actually a novel, ‘Brittle Innings’, in which the Monster joins a baseball team.

That’s a great book! It’s Shelley Frankenstein, and it’s pretty great. Man, I must have read that 25 years ago.

Talking the Monster and baseball, have you ever seen any footage of a charity baseball game played back in the 30’s or 40’s where the Monster faced off against comedians like (I think) Buster Keaton and the Three Stooges?
