Monster of the Day #3154

Hmm, that seems a bit on the nose. Uh, Yetis. Adaptation of Lovecraft’s Cool Air. Killer Snowmen…..  OK, that’s all I got.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Isn’t this a repeat? I know I’ve seen that cover before.

  • Gamera977

Yeap, a repeat. But I don’t mind seeing it again- it’s a dozy..

  • kgb_san_diego

I love that the doctor looks like he is mid spit-take…

  • Gamera977

You think a simple space heater would be enough to defrost ogre guy. A trip down to Lowe’s is a lot cheaper and quicker than putting together all that lab equipment and kidnapping two victims.

  • Beckoning Chasm

I’m sure when it ran before I said something outrageously witty and perceptive. So, I’ll just refer to that.

  • Rodford Smith

Hmmm… Anyone else reminded of “The Resurrection of Jimber-Jaw” by Burroughs?

  • So… it was the heartbeat that was her first clue. And not the chunk of ice flying past her face.

    Good to know.

  • Eric Hinkle

Oh come on, what kind of self-respecting mad scientist buys off the shelf for his experiments?

  • Eric Hinkle

I am now. I am also surprised to see that anyone else remembers that story.

  • Rodford Smith

This was one of the stories in a book I have on the pulps. The book had several examples of those magazines’ artwork and writing.

  • Eric Hinkle

Would that book be Peter Haining’s ‘The Fantastic Pulps’? I read it there myself.

  • Rodford Smith

I’m not sure. That title seems familiar, but among the roughly dozen books I have on the pulps (some of which are about the art alone) that is not currently one of them. Neither are any by Haining.

BTW, I recommend Delicious Library as one way to keep track of things like books, CDs, DVDs, etc.
