I don’t think that word means what you think it means…

Yeah, wow, that’s some major ‘star’ power there.

  • There’s certainly a kind of inflation going on with the word ‘star’. Previously it was only rarely applied to the very biggest movie actors – then it became just the lead actors in a film – now it describes anyone who has ever been in the vicinity of a movie (such as in your earlier post on Paris Hilton)

  • That’s probably the cleverest headline the copy editor ever thought up. Surely you can’t expect him to let facts get in the way.
