Monster of the Day #3007

One of the better Amicus portmanteau films, House that Dripped Blood, is available via the Cult Cinema Classics channel on YouTube. Hey, a film that features both Sean John Pertwee and Ingrid Pitt as vampires can’t be bad. Also on hand is Denholm Elliott, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee (in one of the best chapters in any Amicus film).

Stay safe, everyone!

Uh, I think you meant John Pertwee. His son Sean was 7 when HtDB came out.

  • Robert Bloch for the win. The man had some hellishly good stories, and the Christopher Lee one (Sweets for the Sweet) is one of the best.

  • One of the stronger Amicus efforts, I think.

It’s amazing the stuff that’s showing up free on YouTube. I don’t know if that’s always been the case, or if YT’s “catering” AI is just shifting gears.

  • Eric Hinkle

Ah, Miss Pitt. Sometimes I think she was one of the loveliest actresses of all time in horror films.

Plus Sean was a werewolf, not a vampire!

I’m waiting for the Brigadier and U.N.I.T. to show up with stakes and hammers…

  • Right up there with Barbra Shelly and Pamela Franklin

    And Martine Beswicke.

Just went to YouTube, and…”Citizen Kane (1941) Full Movie.”
    Well, there goes the neighborhood….

    Ooooooops!!!!

    Ha!

    Caroline Munro!

I watched this again last night and the most horrible thing was in the first story- about fifteen minutes in. The wife is cutting up celery and there is what looks like Spam is on the cutting board. You’re making your husband Spam and celery for supper!?! True horror!!!
And then in the second story, Peter Cushing’s friend is wearing a canary yellow shirt with a bright blue tie. After feeling ill from the Spam and celery now my eyes started to bleed. After that it was mostly downhill…

    Caroline Munro!!!

I wish I could give this FIVE likes…
