Monster of the Day #2015

I’m not the hugest fan of Creepshow, but if it’s your bag, the Shudder streaming service has a new series based on the movie. You can currently watch the first episode on Amazon Prime, and watch the rest of the show by subscribing to Shudder through Amazon.

    ‘Ghoul-O-Gram!!!’

And thanks Ken for the head’s up. But I picked up ‘Night Gallery’ and ‘Tales From The Dark Side’ last year on a Halloween sale and still haven’t made my way though all of them.

  • Definitely a rarity, as it’s one of the few not only to not have a dud story, but also to get progressively better as the flick moves around. About the only downside is the damn “EC” comic book lighting Romero had to use. Kills the mood every time he uses it.

  • Oh, man, does Night Gallery have some good stories. Some clunkers, too, but all in all not bad. Had Serling been left alone it might have been the Twilight Zone of the Horror set.

One of the few fictional things I recall scaring me as a kid was the pilot NG and the painting that kept changing.

Seconded! That was the Roddy McDowall segment, correct?

  • Yep.

    The lighting IS the mood.

I would watch anything with Roddy McDowall when I was a kid. If they brought him in, you knew they were really trying their best to entertain you.

I still love Roddy McDowall. I’m thinking of purchasing Legend of Hell House on Blu Ray for Halloween now that the price on Amazon has gone down, only money is a little tight right now.

Not sure, but I think I liked the Leslie Nielsen segment the most. Ironic how Gaylen Ross managed to survive Dawn of the Dead, only to get turned into a zombie for Creepshow.

Yes, that was the winner of that film, certainly. Really good.
