Monster of the Day #1981

OK, my Internet is working now. so here we go. I think MAYBE I saw this at some point, but the fact that I don’t remember for sure indicates that this is another film that isn’t as good as the poster selling it.

  • Mike Weller

    Kirk Alyn…Forry Ackerman…Fred Olen Ray…
Superman…master of bad puns…master of low budget action/T&A…
Love to see that as a Jeopardy answer…

  • Rock Baker

Yeah, the presence of Kirk Alyn seems to demand at least one screening. Odd that I’ve never once heard of this one before, despite it looking like the sort of thing that should have been a staple at the video rental stores I haunted as a kid.

  • I have often found that there are very good reasons why I haven’t heard of a film…

  • The Rev.

This is one of the ever-shortening list of ’80s slasher movies I have yet to see. I’ve never actually seen it in a store; I only know about it from a video guide I found in high school.

  • Beckoning Chasm

“I’m sick of you guys clogging the sink!”

  • Rock Baker

Yeah, but you still seek out such things in search of a hidden gem. The random jewel only fuels the further hunt.

  • Eric Hinkle

I think they had this one at a local store that closed down years ago — but yeah. This looks like low-grade rental fodder. The descriptions I’ve read of it online don’t make it sound any better, either.

Still, a zombie slasher Indian brave is kind of original.

  • Eric Hinkle

I love the description of this film given on Wikipedia by director Fred Olen Ray: “It was meant to be the cheapest film possible,” said Ray. “I used to describe it as
    and it pretty much was.”
