    Well, Tony Stark was pretty rich, so I imagine he had a guy on staff whose only job was to look after those boots.

  • You know Stark installed those skates right after he heard about Rocket Racer. Just in case. That’s just the way Stark rolls…er, literally.

    Before Tony put the roller blades on his boots, he had casters on his shoulders and ankles, and propelled himself feet-first at high velocities using a rocket engine mounted on the top of his head, steering with his neck, and watching through a periscope.

    This was how he defended Cleopatra VII from Octavian’s Roman legions.

    I believe this all happened before he realized he had a drinking problem.

    Holy crap, Iron Man’s getting 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. 95%. It looks good, and even excited a non Iron Man fan like myself, but that’s just shocking.

  • Since it seems to be holding steady at 95%, I don’t think Gwynyth Paltrow will be able to derail this. BTW – With today’s gas prices, I’m considering building a similar suit (skates and all – but I’ll have to clean them, myself)

    Between Downey Jr. and the surprisingly good CGI, and everything else in the trailers, I’m actually thinking I’ll need to pony up and see this in the theaters. The last comic-based movie I did that for was Spider-Man 2 (and yes, I have come to regret not catching Batman Begins in the same venue.)

  • Saw the movie this weekend. It was awesome. It also has rocketed up to my “Essential Must-See Super-hero movies,” which include Spider-Man 2 and Superman.

    Also, if you want the weirdest alternative version on the Black Sabbath “Iron Man” song, check out the jazzy Europop version by The Cardigans. (I was playing it all weekend alongside the original.)
