Monster of the Day #1892

Happy Monday, everyone. Yay. Back to work. And more snow! Terrific.

This weekend I came across the fact that The Coneheads, like Howard the Duck, had a pretty good stop-motion monster in it. Made in 1993, is that the last traditional stop-animated monster in a studio film?

Do you not count Kubo of the two strings?

Yeah, I had the same thought. I think he is thinking stop motion beastie in an otherwise live action movie, and that stop motion animation is its own category. I think I agree.

Reminds me of Beulah from ‘It Conquered the World’.

I’ve saw the Coneheads movie years ago but don’t even remember the monster. Guess it’s one I need to rewatch sometime.

You could use those fangs as flag pennants…rubbing the belly of an elephant (or local equivalent)…Beer keg openers…

True, I wasn’t thinking of movies like Nightmare Before Christmas.
